actually there are quite a lot of Geeman Stones around. The most well known are for shure the Thuringian Water Hones which have been quarried in different quarries in the Thuringia Region around Sonneberg.

Talking about the History of sharpening stones there have been a lot of different types of Stones beeing used. the stones were used in different businesses. F.ex. scythe stones were used to sharpen the farmers scythes.

As the exchange over the World Wide Web is continiously growing and a lot of people are interested in finding usable sharpening stones on their own a lot of “newly” found stones came up.

to mention here are the Bavarian-Frankonian Bout Stones, some Thuringian Bout Stones,
