About this specific Stone:
This is a german slate type stone i got from Marc for testing and making an evaluation of the stone. After checking back with some slates i already own i found out that it looks quite comparable to the Müller’s Water Grindstones. It shares the pattern in appearance and color, the pyrite inclusions, slurry color and the dark clouded inclusions.
Honing/Touch Up with Marc’s Slate:
personal shaving results (PSR):
I do not prefer to use this stone as a finisher, because the shave doesn’t fell comfortable enough for my personal standards. Using pastes, chromium oxide or diamond spray might be a way to come around well shaving from this stone.
Comparison with other Stones:
I added two shots of the Müller’s Water Grindstone i already owned. It seems to be the same material, it shares the pattern in appearance and color. It shows the same slurry color, the same pyrite inclusions and the same black colored clouded inclusions. It also behaves the nearly same way as the Müller’s Water Grindstone does.
